Sea Girt

One of the most affluent shore/coastal towns in southern Monmouth County, there is nothing not to fall in love with. Its town center, filled with the charm of yesteryear, half a mile of sandy beaches, most of the homes are within walking distance of the shore offering grand front porches. A mix of year-round residents and 2nd homeowners, some new builds keeping with the shore colonial style. Grab a sandwich at Joe Leone’s Italian Specialties or an ice cream at Surfside Frozen Custard and head to the beach. Biking, swimming, surf fishing or out for a moonlit walk, a smile washes over you; it’s a good place to be if you want a relaxed atmosphere.

At the north tip of town, The Sea Girt Lighthouse marks the inlet leading toward Wreck Pond and at the south end is Stockton Lake, giving Sea Girt residents three fronts of water views.

Looking to fulfill your summer reading list, stop by the historic train station, converted into a public library, and borrow a few books. For some annual or perennial color, Barlow’s is on Sea Girt Avenue, a great family owned garden center.

The North Jersey Coast train line has stops in Manasquan and Spring Lake. Nearby major routes are 35, 71, 19, 138, 195 and Garden State Parkway exit 98. Neighboring towns are Spring Lake, Wall and Manasquan. Plenty of marinas are located on the Manasquan River for boaters.
